Clear, bright ruby red.

Nose

Ripe Black Doris plums, vanilla, a hint of liquorice.

Palate

Medium body. Mouth-filling ripe plums, dark fruit and berries, but well balanced with acidity, some tannins, and savoury notes. Subtle spiciness, and hints of vanilla, liquorice, leather and tobacco add interest.

Overall

This excellent 70% syrah-dominant blend proves the fact that Argentina doesn't just make good malbecs, even in this price bracket. Instantly likeable, flavoursome and well-balanced wine with enough complexity to hold your interest. Very good buying especially if you can find it under $10.
