Appearance
Bright scarlet with ruby hues.
Nose
Caramel, mocha and burnt toast, with blackcurrants and blackberry jam.
Palate
Medium bodied. Blackcurrant and blackberry preserves dominate, with some cedar-like mildly spicy wood. Hints of honeycomb bitter-sweetness, or perhaps honey with burnt caramel. Soft mouthfeel and gentle acidity, with an average finish.
Overall
An interesting and attractive nose, followed by a pleasant mouthfull. Side by side with the same bodega's Malbec, it's clear that this wine benefitted from better quality fruit. Compared to others on the market though, arguably AR$5 or more overpriced.
