Appearance
Bright violet red.
Nose
Subdued. Opens into plums and slight woodiness.
Palate
Medium body. Plums and pencil shavings up front, but lacking fruit on the mid-palate. Some cherry-like characters develop into a flat and slightly bitter, woody finish. Mild black pepper spiciness.
Overall
A very average wine which really doesn't achieve the quality required at this price-point. The fruit is not concentrated or ripe enough to sustain the wine, and judging by the woody tannins has either not been processed with due care or has been given a bit of oak shock treatment, whether in a barrique or otherwise. At AR$15 pesos this would be worth a look - as it stands, the ticket is just not justified.
