Pale straw yellow with golden-green hues.
Nose
Melon, banana, butterscotch sweetness, and a citrus freshness.
Palate
Medium-full body. Ripe bananas and melon accompanied by a fresh, clean citrus impression on the front palate. Lowish acidity sees the citrus freshness recede quickly to leave a fairly long but somewhat sweet finish, revealing a gentle spiciness in the process.
Overall
A sensible light hand with both oak and malolactic fermentation sees this Chardonnay retain enough fresh acidity to be immediately reminiscent of fresh tropical breakfast fruits drizzled in a little fresh lime juice. The finish doesn't quite carry the wine into classic status - but for the price, this is an excellent value example of the varietal.
