Appearance
Bright, clear pale golden yellow with greenish hues.
Nose
Lime, banana and pineapple, light floral characters and a white-pepper spiciness.
Palate
Light-bodied, smooth and silky. Pleasant, exotic honey-like flavours dominate but without cloying sweetness - rather, there is a good light but fresh acidity. Gentle spiciness, and good length.
Overall
A very pleasant, approachable and fresh-tasting white from one of the less well-known grapes. Well balanced - this Viognier remains fresh and never becomes cloying or overly sweet-tasting. The fruit on the nose doesn't present itself quite as noticably as it could, but nevertheless this would be an excellent choice for a chilled white with grilled fish or fresh salad on a summer afternoon - especially in Argentina, where really good Riesling is somewhat hard to find.
