Latitude 33 Malbec 2005
Ruby red with violet hues.
Bright, lively red cherries and a trace of baking yeast.
Lightish body. Cherries and plums on the front palate, warming thanks to the 13.5% alcohol, with some hints of vanilla oak evident from early on. Light tannins but fairly robust acidity offer a dry finish that is satisfactorily lengthy.
A lighter style Malbec from one of Bodegas Chandon's labels. The fruit is somewhat austere and the wine could perhaps be best described as straightforward and unpretentious, though well balanced nevertheless. Entirely pleasant, but there are more satisfying wines available for less.
