Trapiche Coleccion Roble Malbec 2004
Deep ruby red with violet hues.
Lush ripe black cherries, plums, and a hint of vanilla.
Medium to full body. Warm, round, black fruit - plums, cherries, ripe backberries. Nice fine tannins and moderate acidity contribute to a pleasantly dry and lengthy finish. Oaky complexities of pencil shavings, a little black pepper spiciness, and a trace of sweet vanilla.
A fine example of a well-balanced Malbec featuring all the juicy fruit typical of the variety, with some generous time in oak to darken and take on some complexities. Very satisfying, and good value - though there are equally enjoyable wines available for less.
