New reviews posted: three excellent Malbecs from Enrique Foster. Foster has a "Malbec-only" strategy, and so far, it's working a treat. Also a tasty if atypical Chardonnay from northern stars Callia; a good budget Malbec from their Salentein group stablemate Finca El Portillo; and a couple of disappointing whites from Lurton and the usually impressive Chakana.
The star in this posting, though, is the Cabernet Sauvignon from Mendoza legend Carmelo Patti. Carmelo's winery is just about the definitive boutique operation, and his Cabernet Sauvignon is just about the definitive example of that variety in all its multi-faceted complexity. At just AR$55, it earns 4+ stars and an emphatic Top Drop rating.
